Scantech, a high-tech company specializes in developing, manufacturing, and selling of 3D scanners, is pleased to announce that it has won the renowned Red Dot Award: Product Design 2021 for its compact handheld 3D scanner SIMSCAN.

SIMSCAN has received the award for its breakthrough combination of simplicity, usability, and technology.

Prof. Carlos Hinrichsen, lead chair of International Design Alliance, comments on the SIMSCAN: “I can see in this design proposal a unique form of innovation for this type of technological device, and I agree that it is one of the world’s first-generation palm-sized portable 3D scanners. Technology as well as the formal requirements of use, usability and human sensitivity are well coordinated and harmonized, meeting the requirements or needs of end-users perfectly. ”

With a weight of only 570g, SIMSCAN is a historical subversion of the existing 3D scanners in structure with weight of 900g. It is compact and unconstrained by the working environment. It carries out 3D measurement anytime and anywhere, especially in confined spaces, such as engine compartments.

This portable 3D scanner brings unparalleled simpleness for scanning anything with one hand. With ergonomic design, SIMSCAN 3D scanner fits perfectly in your palm, truly realizing a perfect fusion of aesthetics and practicality.

Compared with other 3D scanners in the market, the camera distance of SIMSCAN is much shorter, which is 130 mm. SIMSCAN is, therefore, more capable to capture accurate and complete data in hard-to-reach areas like deep grooves.

SIMSCAN provides high-quality scans with an accuracy of up to 0.0.20 mm and fast data capture thanks to a high frame rate of up to 2.02 million MPS.
